Do you ever find yourself doing little things instead of completing what you were
planning to work on? I think I speak for all of us when I say, “yes.” Every once in a while, or
more often than not, we do something and make it take more time than it needs, or we
justify doing a task instead of prioritizing our work in order to avoid it. Well, I am sure we all
know, but the word for this is procrastination.
Procrastination is extremely hard to steer away from. We find ourselves
procrastinating all the time and this makes it particularly hard to get work done. There are
numerous ways we can keep ourselves from procrastinating. One of the best ways to
accomplish this is to realize when we are procrastinating so we can stop before we lose
track of time. Another thing to try is to make goals and then give ourselves a little reward or
pat on the back when we complete those goals. That can help to keep us motivated. We
can also make a game plan and plan our work out for the week to keep up, and away from
procrastination.
There are so many other ways to keep us from falling prey to procrastination, but
everyone is different so some tactics may work for you, but not for others. The most
important thing to remember is that you should find what works for you and conquer
procrastination!
