A Day In The Life of a New ASUPD Student

By Caitlin Cruz

Hello! My name is Caitlin and I would like to tell you about my unique routine being an ASUPD student. I’ll share some things that get me excited for the day and some things that make my schedule unique to me and my needs. One of the most surprising aspects is how repetitive I need my life to be to succeed.

Each day I get up at 5:25 am so I have enough time to get ready and watch a little bit of a streamer I like. I start school at 7:00 am at the latest, it is pretty normal for me to start earlier. Once I start the day and turn on my computer, I start a focus session for an hour then take a 5-minute break. At 9 I take a thirty-minute reading session to read whatever book I have lying around. Right now, I’m reading To Kill a Mockingbird (I like it but wonder about the name). At noon, I go on my hour-long lunch break. I normally just get leftovers and drink some water. If I’m not hungry, I just take a shower. When I have a live lesson I always try to go, because I have a lot of questions. I finally log off of school at 4:00 pm, I normally start this half of my day by watching the rest of the stream I started in the morning. Once my dad gets back from work or my mom logs off of work, I have dinner with them. My mom likes making food, and my dad normally picks up food. I normally watch a video essay about something from history while I eat dinner. My favorite one so far was about the Dead Internet Theory. Once I get done with dinner, I head back upstairs to my room and start cleaning up my room. Then from 8:00 pm to 8:30 pm, I start getting ready for bed and then go to sleep for the night to do this all again in the morning.
