Ah, books. The smell of the pages as you crack open a new book and the feel of the pages between your fingers as you get lost in a new tale are just a few of my favorite things about reading. And if you’re anything like me, you love to read and are always on the lookout for your next read, whether it’s mystery or fantasy or action-adventure. And if that’s the case, then this Top Ten Best Book Series to Read If You Are An Avid Reader list is perfect for you.
1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
This is undoubtedly one of my favorite series. It follows titular character Harry Potter on his adventures as he learns on his eleventh birthday that he is the orphaned son of two powerful wizards and possesses magical abilities of his own, going from being an unwanted child in his Aunt and Uncle’s home to attending the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, meeting several new friends and soon coming face to face with Lord Voldemort, his arch-enemy while also learning of a great destiny waiting for him….at least if Harry can survive. I started reading this series in March in the ASU Prep Digital Book Club and read the first three which I thoroughly enjoyed. And after getting the final four books for my birthday I have now read all seven books and enjoyed all of them. I highly recommend the series for not only those who love a good fantasy book but anyone who’s looking for a good series to read. Another one of my favorite series, this series follows Sophie Foster, a twelve-year-old outcast in her community with a secret who meets a mysterious boy named Fitz. From him, Sophie learns that there was a place where she does belong and that staying where she is would pose a great danger to her. This forces her to leave behind everything she’s ever known and start a new life in a place vastly different from her own as people in her new world seek out the secrets buried deep in Sophie’s memory… Secrets that these people would even kill for. I have read the first three books in the series, though I own the first seven books in paperback and am eagerly awaiting to be able to get the eighth book in paperback. This is yet another series I highly recommend for readers of all types.
