Grading

ASU Prep student

Across the ASU Prep Network:

  • ASU’s policy on grade forgiveness allows students to retake up to 12 credits in their lifetime at ASU. Should a student wish to retake a course for grade forgiveness, the student will work with their LSC/ Counselor on a success plan to ensure they are supported in the credit recovery course. (Per ASU Policy, an undergraduate course may be repeated for credit if the grade of “D”, “E” (including Eu, EN, and XE), “W”, “X” is received. If the student is requesting to repeat a course more than once, they will need to speak with their LSC/Counselor to review ASU’s policy further.
  • Students understand that failing a Concurrent Course will be posted to both their high school and college transcript and will affect my incoming college GPA.
  • If a student is taking a college course to meet their high school graduation requirements, they understand that failing the course will jeopardize their ability to graduate on time. They will be off-track for graduation and their GPA for high school and college will be affected.
  • If a student receives a D or F in a Concurrent Course, they are ineligible to take a new concurrent course in the following Spring or Fall term. If they receive a C in a Concurrent Course, they are limited to one concurrent course in the following term.
  • If students do not finish the class or convert the Universal Learner course to credit, then they will need to meet with their  Learning Success Coach or Counselor to determine future Universal Learner or Concurrent eligibility.
  • Students are restricted from retaking a ULC course in the same semester; they must wait until the subsequent term to do so.
  • Students are prohibited from being simultaneously enrolled in the same course across different sessions within a single semester.
  • In order to earn college and high school credit in their Universal Learner course, they must earn a C or better.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to inform their Counselor/LSC/ASU Prep Staff when they have completed the Universal Learner course. It is their responsibility to convert the Universal Learner Course to college credit.
  • Students are held responsible to verify and convert their Universal Learner courses within the semester it was scheduled. ASU Prep will not be held liable for any registration errors (incorrect section, incorrect course, etc.) that may occur.
  • If a student withdraws from a Concurrent Course after the drop deadline, they will receive a “W” on their college transcript.
  • Students agree that they must complete tests and assignments even if they are scheduled during high school breaks, following the college syllabus.
  • All 3 – 5 college credits will transfer to the high school transcript as 1.0 high school credit.

Digital:

  • In order to earn college and high school credit in their Universal Learner course, students must earn a C or better and convert the course to college credit.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to inform their LSC when they have completed the course. If they choose not to convert the course to college credit, they understand they will NOT earn high school credit for the course and a grade of “NC” will be posted to the transcript with no impact on the GPA.
  • For students enrolled in the any ULC Companion Course, if students choose not to convert the Universal Learner course to college credit or their final grade is not eligible to convert, students understand their final grade will be displayed as a high school equivalency on their high school transcript and count as 0.5 credit.

Poly, CG, Downtown PHX, South PHX:
