Academics

ASU Prep students

Code of Conduct

  • Students agree to abide by the same academic and behavioral policies required of college students outlined in the ABOR Student Code of Conduct. Failure to do so could result in college disciplinary action. ASU Prep will not be held responsible for any academic or behavioral conduct violations on the students’ part. Students understand that they will be solely responsible for handling any disciplinary action commuted to them by ASU.
  • Students are to abide by both ASU Prep  and ASU’s Honor Code. Academic Integrity violations of any kind are subject to immediate disciplinary action, including but not limited to: cancellation of future concurrent requests for the following academic semester, enrollment into Academic Integrity course, and notation on disciplinary record at ASU and/or ASU Prep.

FERPA

  • Parents, due to FERPA privacy laws, professors will not be able to provide you information regarding your student’s academic progress. We kindly ask that you please DO NOT contact your child’s ASU professors or TAs. Please contact your Learning Success Coach or Counselor with any concerns you may have about professor contact.

Student Success

  • Students are required to provide weekly progress updates (via screenshots) including point tallies and grades to their Counselor/ASU Prep Staff supporting their college courses and academic progress.
  • Students understand that it is their responsibility to stay on or ahead of pace in all classes and maintain passing grades at all times. Failure to do so will prevent them from taking future college courses at ASU.
  • Each course syllabi contains important information regarding grading policies, class structure, due dates, and how to communicate with their instructor. Students must agree to thoroughly read through the syllabus and to communicate any concerns to their instructor and Counselor as needed.
  • Students and Parents understand that ASU courses are university-level courses and content is not modified in any way for high school students. Courses may contain mature or adult themes.
  • In extraordinary circumstances where a student is unable to continue classes and alternative arrangements, such as an incomplete, are not feasible, a medical or compassionate withdrawal request may be submitted. All withdrawal applications must be supported by thorough and credible documentation specific to the term in question. Your student can work with their LSC/counselor to navigate this process and determine the best course of action for their individual situation.

IEP/504 Accommodations

If a student has an IEP or 504 plan in place, it is their responsibility to contact the ASU Student Accessibility and Inclusive Learning Services Center on the ASU campus (https://eoss.asu.edu/accessibility) to request appropriate accommodations. Note: accommodations will be reviewed and may be subject to limitations due to the ASU learning environment.
