Using AI as a springboard for student success

Can artificial intelligence (AI) do more than just provide answers? Bryce Wolcott, a secondary teacher with ASU Prep Digital and Khan World School @ ASU Prep, believes it can.

Wolcott’s innovative approach highlights how AI can move beyond quick fixes to ignite deeper learning and exploration. Using Flexi, a free AI tutor for math and science, he empowers students to take charge of their learning.

Many students struggle with not knowing where to begin when tackling complex problems, whether in biology or chemistry. Wolcott shows how an AI prompt can lower this barrier, giving students a clear starting point and a much-needed confidence boost. “The best assignments are ones where AI isn’t giving students the final answer,” he explains, “but helping them explore, refine and build toward something.”

Check out a recent interview where Wolcott shares how he leverages AI to enhance classroom learning while empowering student ownership.
