Well-being is defined as the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy. It’s hard to measure because it is subjective and self-reported. Well-being integrates a vast number of variables including living conditions, life satisfaction, mental and physical health.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, during the 2021-22 school year, 70 percent of public schools reported an increase in the percentage of their students seeking mental health services at school and 76 percent reported an increase in staff voicing concerns about their students exhibiting symptoms of depression, anxiety, and trauma.
“Wellness is a connection of paths: knowledge and action.”
– Joshua Holtz
The Arizona Virtual Teacher Institute, in partnership with EVERFI, is pleased to offer “Building a Culture of Well-being with Digital Tools.”
Creating and maintaining a healthy classroom environment is challenging—especially in today’s world. Get an early start on the right path this school year. In this teacher training session, educators will be provided valuable resources on how to support student health and address personal finance, mental wellness, and prevention education. Educators will also gain access to a suite of no-cost resources for their own personal development.
Whether working to educate students about how to create healthy exercise and eating habits, make mindful financial decisions, or show empathy for others, this session presented by EVERFI offers tools to support the health of your school community.
The session is offered for educators in two tracts: K–6 and grades 7–12.
Participants will earn 1.5 hours of professional development credit for attending a session.
